Rome, RMG - September 2020 - The meeting of the Formation Commission of the Interamerica Region takes place from 7 to 11 September, through the Zoom platform. Chaired by Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, the meeting sees the participation of the Provincial Delegates for Formation of the Salesian Provinces that make up the Interamerica Region. During this time, there will be moments of personal study, group work and sharing in the assembly, to prepare a draft of the Regional Formation Plan for 2020-2026 in the light of the 28th General Chapter and to know the current challenges of the Formation of Salesians of Don Bosco.
(ANS – Rome) – History will register in its manuals and essays the transforming experience lived by humanity in this time and in our space. In our educative and pastoral spaces, a "new normality" is drawn.
(ANS - Rome) - "Young Salesians and accompaniment - Orientations and Guidelines". The first 'seed' of reflection that 5 young Salesians toss to their colleagues and all the Salesians in their 3-minute video in 5 languages for the month of September is to open our eyes to this awareness: there is a large number of young Salesians. It is a charism, a gift, a challenge: how to be and become increasingly more the face of Don Bosco, be close to the millions of young people who are clamoring for such proximity? The GC28 encouraged young people to be true and proper protagonists and not just beneficiaries: this is true above all for those thousands of young people who are or are about to become Salesians.
(ANS - Rome) - About 8 months after the beginning of the first recognized cases of Covid-19, Asia, the continent that first experienced the effects of the new coronavirus, seems to be slowly returning to "normalcy". In fact, notes of cautious hope come from various works and missions spread throughout the East Asia-Oceania Region, which it is hoped will soon spread to the whole world.
(ANS - Rome) - A series of 10 videos, short and packed with content, to be used as "small seeds" to sprout reflection on the text Young Salesians and accompaniment - Orientations and directives: this is the new proposal that the Formation Department launches to the Salesian houses of initial formation. An initiative that starts today, with an introductory video that kicks off the entire journey and which intends to illustrate the proposed path month by month until June 2021.
