(ANS - Rome) - From today the new video of the “Dear Confreres” column, which the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, recorded in Valdocco is available online. Don Bosco's Successor speaks to the Salesian Family from the Don Bosco House Museum, a place that reopened its doors on 4 October “to offer us a profound and true experience of Salesianity, which will allow us to touch the true history of Don Bosco with our hands: his dreams, his reality, his faith, his problems.”
Rome, RMG - November 2020 - The meeting of the Delegates of Mission Animation (DIAM) of the Mediterranean Region with the Department for the Missions, led by the General Councilor Fr Alfred Maravilla, took place on the Zoom platform. All the DIAM present shared the paths of mission animation of their Provinces, the experiences of volunteer service, the efforts and ideas to plan the journey together in forthcoming years. The theme remains important for everyone and the various Salesian Provinces are trying to revitalize it through a broad reflection that involves young people at the forefront to develop more incisive and effective proposals. The importance of collaboration with the laity and team-work was emphasized, appreciating the possibility of dealing with different realities, especially between the Italian Provinces and the Spanish, Portuguese and Middle Eastern Provinces.

Rome, Italy - October 2020 - The Youth Ministry Department, led by the General Councilor Fr Miguel Angel García Morcuende, coordinated the work of the Youth Ministry meeting (PG) of the South Cone America Region, divided into four moments of study and reflection, from 24 to 27 October. The reflection centered on the analysis of the challenges and educational and pastoral perspectives highlighted in the previous meeting with each YM Provincial Delegate. It was noted that joint formation is indispensable in order to better understand the Salesian educative-pastoral model; also, the need to continue to pursue a planning mentality of each work and each sector within it, where planning is the result of community discernment; also, to understand and assimilate the charismatic expansion of the mission, and the true meaning and urgency of the Educational-Pastoral Community; rethink some areas or sectors of activity of the Region where the mission takes place; strengthen and develop oratories, youth centers and social works; rethink the Salesian identity of parishes. In addition, some guidelines and commitments at the provincial level were suggested.
