It was like seeing Don Bosco again with his children, yesterday, Sunday, June 12th, in Moncucco Torinese, where, close to the Moglia hamlet, there was the inauguration of the restored “Cascina Moglia”, an important and significant place in the formative and vocational journey of young Giovanni Bosco, brought to new life by the association “Don Bosco 2000”.
Belluno, Italy – June 5th, 2016 – The Salesian Family celebrated the 50th anniversary of the dedication of ‘St. John Bosco’ Parish Church in Belluno, together with over 40 years of presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. “The history of God’s mercy is here intertwined, during these fifty years, with the history of Salesians”, said Msgr. Enrico dal Covolo, SDB, during the Eucharistic celebration.
Messina, Italy – June 5th, 2016 – On June 5th, in the “Stella Maris” Parish, Salesian confrères Domenico Muscherà (ISI), Josephat Orota (AFE) and Marco Aiello (ISI), were ordained deacons through the imposition of hands and the consecratory prayer of Msgr. Calogero La Piana, SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Messina.
(ANS - Turin) - About 380 thousand hours of training, 12,500 students, more than 5 thousand internships and apprenticeships: these are some figures of TechPro2, the project that unites the automotive industry giants Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and CNH Industrial with quality proven professional Salesian formation. Yesterday, 7 June in Turin, at the Mother House of the Salesians, there was the '' International TechPro2 Event " that illustrated the activities and future programmes, and conferred awards on some of the most deserving students of the project.
(ANS - Torre Annunziata) – The Emera project caters for one hundred and thirty children between 6 and 17 years, including 11 ethnic Roma and 6 young people who had dropped out of school for more than a year and are being prepared for eighth grade. There is a large team of educators, including five young people doing Civil Service and 6 teenagers on probation, sent by the Juvenile Justice Centre, who have joined their younger companions. These are some of the numbers of the Emera project run by the Salesian "Small Steps Big Dreams" Association and supported by Social Ambit no.30, which includes the areas of Torre Annunziata, Boscoreale, Boscotrecase and Trecase.
Rome, Italy - June 2016 - The volume of 300 pages by Fr Vittorio Pozzo entitled "The Salesians of Don Bosco in Lebanon. The first 25 years of Salesian presence in Lebanon from 1952 to 1977", was launched on 3 June at the Salesian Institute of the Sacred Heart in Rome. The book is published by LAS of Rome as part of the Salesian Historical Institute Series. The many people present, including civil and religious authorities, appreciated the invitation to the launch of the book. After an introduction by Fr Thomas Anchukandam, Director of the Salesian Historical Institute, the presentation was chaired by Fr Stanilslaw Zimniak, a member of the Institute. Speakers at the presentation were Lucy Ladikoff from the University of Genoa; Giorgio Rossi, former Professor of Modern History at the University of Roma Tre and LUMSA; and the poet and writer Giuseppe Goffredo.

(ANS – Rome) – Angelot, from Madagascar, is a new missionary in Europe, active in the new Delegation of Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro, belonging to the Province of Southern Italy (IME). Regarding his plans, he says: "My dream and my project in my mission are nothing more than the project of Christ through Don Bosco: the salvation of souls".

Myanmar – Tragedy of Innocent Children in the midst of Armed Conflicts
(ANS – Naypyidaw) - Myanmar finds itself immersed in profound grief and anguish as innocent lives, particularly those of children, continue to be mercilessly lost in the enduring armed conflicts. Families are left devastated by the tragic loss of their loved ones while the relentless violence shows no signs of abating. This week, a heartfelt plea from Myanmar reached our community, shedding light on the heart-wrenching death of a young girl Juliet in a military airstrike, prompting a unified call for prayers and action.

Italy – The chapel of the relics at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin celebrates 90 years and celebrates them with an exhibition on the Shroud
(ANS – Turin) – Again this year, on 14 September, on the occasion of the liturgical feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the day of the Opening of the Crypt, the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Turin hosted an evening dedicated to the Shroud, as part of the "Culture in the Basilica" exhibition, entitled "The Shroud: witness of great love".
