Assisi, Italy - August 2017 - About 40 Salesian ministers and coadjutors of the current five-year term of the Italian Provinces spent four days, from 6 to 9 August, in Assisi, to study the Umbrian saint's experience, history and spiritual itinerary more closely. Guided by a Capuchin Friar, an expert in Franciscan history, participants read and commented on San Francesco's texts on some of the very sites Saint Francis had his most significant experiences.
Valdocco, Turin - June 1846 - On 12 April 1846, Don Bosco finally transferred the Oratory to the Pinardi house and on 26 June 1846 paid the first installment of the rent. Biella, Italy - August 9, 2017 – Last Wednesday, the Salesian novices of Pinerolo, with their teacher, Fr Pietro Migliasso, participated in the annual pilgrimage of the Diocese of Pinerolo; their destination: the Marian Sanctuary of the Sacred Mount of Oropa in the Italian province of Biella. During the homily, Mgr. Piergiorgio Debernardi spoke of the 11 novices living the last month of their novitiate in preparation for the First Religious Profession which is scheduled for September 8 in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, Turin.
(ANS - Rome) – The Volunteers of Con Don Bosco (CDB) constitute a Public Ecclesial Male Association of Lay Faithful. Founded by Fr Egidio Viganò, they are recognized as the 17th Salesian Family Group, to which they belong since 1994. During these summer months, the association's leaders have been engaged in the preparation of the VI General Assembly which, invoked last year on the occasion of the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, shall take place in Rome from 28 December 2017 to 5 January 2018.
Naples, Italy - July 2017 - At the end of the Animation Training Campus this past 31 July, 200 youths from the Salesian Youth Movement of Calabria, Campania, Basilicata, Puglia and Albania animated the historic center of Naples through the arts of street animation on the theme: "With or without You is not the same thing."
(ANS - Turin) – Only two days to SYM 2017 Confronto Meeting, the event focussing on the spirituality of Salesian Youth with circa 250 young people gathering from all over Europe, and beyond, to the sites of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. To be Agents of Don Bosco's Vision, Passion and Mission is the lofty objective that wants to be proposed to the youngsters of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM).

Italy – On-Line Course on Integral Ecology 2025: An Initiative of the Alliance for the Care of Our Common Home (Pontifical Universities & Atheneums of Rome)
(ANS – Rome) – 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical letter on the Care for Our Common Home, in which he invited all people of good to “a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet” (Laudato Si’, 14). However, as Pope Francis recognizes in Laudate Deum, the apostolic exhortation published on 4th October 2023, “our responses have not been adequate” and “the world in which we live is collapsing and may be nearing the breaking point.” (Laudate Deum, 2).
