(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, Monday, 22 November 2021, the new academic year of the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences "Auxilium" of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) was inaugurated. The event was held at the Auditorium of "John Paul II", in compliance with anti-Covid-19 measures, in the presence of students, teachers, staff and numerous guests and authorities, including: Most Rev. Gianrico Ruzza, bishop of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Porto and Santa Rufina; the Vice Grand Chancellor and Mother General of the FMA, Mother Chiara Cazzuola; the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Piera Ruffinatto and Prof. Andrea Bozzolo, Rector of the Salesian Pontifical University. The keynote address for the event was given by Prof. Susanna Sancassani of the Milan Polytechnic.
(ANS - Rome) - Today, Monday 22 November, the Energy Efficiency Project of the Salesian campus is being presented at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS). The event is also an opportunity for the university to formally join the Laudato Sì Initiative Platform (PILS), a shared space for action strongly desired by Pope Francis to address the ecological crisis with urgency and courage.
(ANS - Turin) - A traditional and yet ever new gesture was repeated yesterday, on Sunday 21 November, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin: that of the delivery of the missionary crucifixes to the departing missionaries of the 152nd Salesian Missionary Expedition. “As Christians, we are all missionary disciples, called to be witnesses of the truth in the name of the Lord. And you, my dear missionaries, are much more so,” said the Rector Major during the homily of the Mass.
(ANS - Turin) - On November 18, in 50 countries around the world, the projections of the short films competing at the DBGYFF and the celebratory shows were held. On Friday 19 November, however, the final event was held in Valdocco, during which the winners in the various categories were announced.
Turin, Italy - November 2021 - The first meeting of the new Presidency Council of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), elected on October 24, during the 31st Marian Day, was held in Valdocco on Saturday 13 November. The new council, chaired by Renato Valera, met and began working on an Action Plan prepared by the outgoing team, which, as a "legacy" and a gift, left a reflection on the association's journey over the last four years and on what it is important to preserve, what is important to grow, the points of attention and projects that have been undertaken. Many of the new councilors highlighted the importance of the Valdocco council’s role to rest of the whole association in the world. They reinstated the importance of the entrustment to Mary, the centrality of the journey of faith anchored to the two columns of the Eucharist and Mary, simplicity in style and organization, the centrality of communion in relationships, hospitality, the importance of prayer and formation, the accompaniment of families and young people with their families, the dimension of attention to the weak and the working-class, and finally the strengthening of Salesian identity and charism. In addition, various specific responsibilities were also assigned to the new councilors, designed with a view to serving the mission.
Turin, Italy - November 2021 - On Sunday 21 November, at 12:30, during the Eucharistic Celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin, the Missionary Crosses for the 152nd Missionary Expedition were consigned to the new 9 Salesian missionaries and the 10 FMA missionaries. The new missionaries received the Crosses from the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, while the FMA missionaries received them from the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr Chiara Cazzuola.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
