(ANS – Turin) – There was general satisfaction among the Salesian Provincials who took part in the mid-term review meeting, from 19 to 28 October, with the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and his Vicar, Fr Stefano Martoglio, in palces significant to Salesians. On the final day Thursday (yesterday), gathered at Valdocco, the Provincials gave their impressions of their experience, suggestions of Fr Á.F. Artime and Fr Martoglio, and shared a moment of Salesian spirituality and fraternity by concelebrating the Eucharist in the church of St Francis de Sales.
Venice, Italy - October 2021 - From 22 to 24 October, the National Assembly of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Italy was held at the "San Marco" Salesian House in Venice. It provided a space for reflection, discussion, and commitment. The assembly was attended by about ten representatives from each SYM territory, the presidents of the TGS and CGS associations, and representatives of the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The main theme was Education to emotional and sexual, with an approach that encompassed different facets of the problem. The synodal approach was used as the preferred method and was divided into different phases such as Recognizing, Interpreting and Choosing, with a central role occupied by the presence of the Lord Jesus during a moment of adoration. This was followed by a stimulating reflection by Fr Andrea Bozzolo, who focused on the Salesian Charism in the light of the Gospel. At the end of the three days in Venice, some concrete steps were proposed to be implemented in their own movments.
(ANS - Nizza Monferrato) - "They’re coming!" was the cry of enthusiasm with which, on Wednesday, October 27, the visit of Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, his Vicar, Fr Stefano Martoglio, and the Provincials participating in the mid-term review course, were welcome at the Mother-House of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), in Nizza Monferrato. The visit is the first from a Rector Major to this center, and occurs 150 years from the first visit of Don Bosco to this Piedmontese town. This was part of the formation program of the course for the Provincials, as a journey to deepen the Salesian spirituality for women, in the footsteps of Mother Mazzarello and the first FMA.
(ANS - Castelnuovo Don Bosco) - New projects have been created at the Ethnological Missionary Museum (MEM) of Colle Don Bosco through two web channels of the Piedmont Region: "Mèmora" and " L’arte con chi ne fa parte - Art with those who belong to it".
(ANS - Schio) - Today, Wednesday 27 October, the "Don Bosco" oratory in Schio is exactly 120 years old. And it is still a point of reference for young people and all citizens, a garrison that attracts boys and girls and that which removes them all risk of deviance. Strengthened by its prestigious past, it is preparing to renew itself, to offer an even better service to the city’s most needy young people.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
