(ANS - Turin) - On Saturday, 27 November 2021, a conference was held at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Theology at Crocetta in Turin, to study the spiritual figure of the Venerable Salesian, Fr Giuseppe Quadrio, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth in Vervio, in the province of Sondrio, Italy, on November 28, 1922.

In half an hour of frank and open dialogue, the 10th Successor of Don Bosco shall talk about his life, his ministry, the Congregation, and the Church.
(ANS – Rome) – On 30 November 2021, in Rome, at Villa Bonaparte, seat of the French Embassy to the Holy See, the special ceremony for the awarding of the Medal of Officer of the Legion of Honor of the French Republic to Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, Mother General Emeritus of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, founded on 5 August 1872 by St. John Bosco and St. Maria Domenica Mazzarello in Italy and present in France since 1877.
(ANS - Turin) - As part of the 39th Turin Film Festival, the Experimental Center of Cinematography - National Cinema Impresa Archive and the Salesian Headquarters presented the digitally restored version of the feature film "Don Bosco", directed in 1935 by Goffredo Alessandrini and produced by Riccardo Gualino for the nascent Lux Film. The religious film tells the life of the Piedmontese saint from his childhood in the Monferrato countryside up to his seminary days. It also presents the educational and social activity carried out in Turin with the children of the humblest of the social strata to the foundation of the Salesian Work leading up to his canonization.
(ANS - Rome) - During the General assembly of VIS on 27-28 November, the leadership of the Salesian NGO “VIS” (Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo - International Volunteering for Development) for the next four years were elected. The assembly of Members, composed of three Salesian entities, elected Michela Vallarino, 49, a lawyer, (former Vice President), as its President. She will be assisted by the Executive Committee made up of: Marco Faggioli and Francesco Mele (both Vice-Presidents), the latter appointed by the Assembly of Participants; Fr Giordano Piccinotti, SDB the Treasurer; Bro. Giampietro Pettenon, SDB, Jennifer Avakian and Stefano Di Maria.
(ANS - Turin) - The 8th meeting of the Provincials of Europe took place at Turin-Valdocco from 26-28 November. The continuous presence of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime and of his Vicar, Fr Stefano Martoglio, of the two Councilors for the two Regions of Europe - Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy for the Mediterranean, and Fr Roman Jachimowicz, for Europe Center and North – besides the presence of all the Sector Councilors - Fr Ivo Coelho for Formation; Fr Miguel Angel García Morcuende for Youth Ministry; Fr Alfred Maravilla for the Missions; Fr Gildasio Mendes for Social Communication; and Bro. Jean Paul Muller for the Economy – demonstrated the importance and the quality of the meeting.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
