Panama City, Panama - August 1950 - The President of the Republic of Panama, Arnulfo Arias, together with several members of the government, visits the works of the Basilica di Don Bosco, still under construction. To welcome the authorities was one of the inspirers of that great house, Fr Domenico Soldati.
Chofu, Japan - March 1964 - The venerable Salesian Msgr. Vincenzo Cimatti, lying in bed for a serious illness, asks the blessing of some recently ordained Japanese priests.
Lyon, France - 1964 - We are in 1964 and at the Salesian house in Lyon, France, a group of young people gather around a Salesian: like in the early days of Valdocco, the spiritual Sons of Don Bosco live Salesian familiarity and proximity to their recipients.
Turin, Italy, 8 December 1885 - The draft of the Salesian Coat of Arms appeared for the first time in the circular of Don Bosco on 8 December 1885. It was elaborated by Professor Boidi. The radiant star, the large anchor, the inflamed heart symbolize the theological virtues; the figure of St. Francis de Sales recalls the Patron Saint of the Society; the forest, in the lower part, the founder; the high mountains mean the peaks of perfection to which the members must tend; the palm and the laurel which, intertwined in the stem, embrace the shield up to the middle, are emblems of the prize reserved for a sacrificed and virtuous life. The legend "Da mihi animas ..." expresses the ideal of every Salesian.
