Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Italy - 1867 - In 1846, Mamma Margherita left her home to go to be a mother to the boys of the Oratory of Don Bosco. She went there carrying everything she had: a necklace and a gold ring, which were sold to buy bread for the oratory's guests. In 1867, when Don Bosco was given a portrait of Mamma Margherita at the age of 67, he exclaimed: "It's her, she lacks nothing but words."
Moncucco, Italy - 1828 - Giovanni Bosco was only thirteen when he had to move to the Moglia farm, about 10 km from his home. In that place he lived, worked and devoted himself to his studies from February 1828 to November 1829.
Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Italy - 1815 - This is the famous home of I Becchi, the rural home of the Bosco Occhiena family, a modest home, but one they owned. On the lower floor, the kitchen and next to it a stable for cows. Above, two rooms and a small window. There was poverty, but not misery.
