(ANS – Ljubljana) – The Salesian Cardinal Giovanni Cagliero 100 years ago, at the consecration of the church of Mary Help of Christians in Rakovnik Ljubljana, said, "Slovenes, you are the nation of Mary. If you venerate Mary, you will have nothing to fear!". On the occasion of the centenary of this event on 25 May 2024, Rakovnik's work received the visit of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, who, in addition, blessed the restored church, installed the new Salesian Provincial, blessed the new statue of Don Bosco and met with the Salesian Family and friends of Don Bosco in Slovenia.

(ANS – Rome) – Keeping up the promise he made on 17 December 2023, when he took possession of the diaconate of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice on Via Tuscolana assigned to him by Pope Francis, the Rector Major of the Salesians and Titular Archbishop of Ursona, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, celebrated the Feast of Mary Help of Christians 2024 in the church he is responsible for.

With these words, the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio, expressed the meaning of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco filled with the faithful on the day of its festive anniversary.

(ANS– Vatican City) – A simple and joyful celebration, as are children all over the world: this was the First World Children's Day (WCD), established by Pope Francis at the suggestion of a child, and held on the weekend of 25-26 May 2024 in Rome. In the two stages of the event – Saturday afternoon at the Olympic Stadium and Sunday morning in St Peter's Square – the Holy Father spoke with the little ones in an affectionate and sincere way, entrusting them with the task of cultivating friendship and peace, caring for the poor, the elderly, the sick and the whole world.

(ANS - Turin) - With the celebration of the Eucharist on 23 May, presided over by the Rector Major, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, the last working day of the World Council of the Salesian Family began. The participants shared the working draft of a new document drawn up by the Secretariat of the Salesian Family, entitled "Animation and Accompaniment in the Salesian Family". It is a document that offers useful indications both on how to live accompaniment according to the Salesian style, and on the organisms of animation and accompaniment of the various groups of our Family.
