(ANS – Rome) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime will spend his last Feast of Mary Help of Christians as Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the city that has been his home – apart from his many trips – in the last 10 years: Rome. The 10th Successor of Don Bosco will preside over the solemn festive Eucharist at 6 pm (UTC+2) at the Salesian Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Via Tuscolana, the church which the Holy Father Francis, on 30 September 2023, assigned him as his cardinalate.

(ANS – Rome) – The most awaited Marian feast in the entire Salesian world, the one for Mary Help of Christians, is now approaching, and – as every year – pilgrims from all over the world are preparing to experience it in the church dedicated to her at the Salesian Mother House in Valdocco: the church that Our Lady herself requested from St John Bosco, while assuring him of her maternal protection and blessing: "Hic Domus Mea, Inde Gloria Mea". In the busy program of celebrations on 24 May, the one at 18:30 (UTC+2) stands out, presided over by the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio, and which will be visible all over the world thanks to ANSChannel.

(ANS - Turin) - On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 22, the eve of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, the Don Bosco House Museum in Turin-Valdocco inaugurated a temporary exhibition on Don Bosco's 9-Year Dream. The ceremony featured Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, and participants from the World Consultation of the Salesian Family, along with other prominent Salesian figures and cultural personalities.

(ANS - Bellflower) - In response to the escalating mental health challenges faced by young people today, Camp Savio (in Bellflower) and Camp Salesian (in Los Angeles) recently collaborated to train 50 summer camp youth leaders on peer-to-peer trauma management. This initiative, held in May 2024, comes at a critical time as the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to impact youth mental health significantly. A survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in August 2020 revealed that 25.5% of respondents aged 18-24 had seriously considered suicide in the past 30 days, underscoring the urgent need for effective mental health support mechanisms.

(ANS – Kazembe) – Salesian missionaries had the funding to build a house for volunteers in Kazembe, Zambia, thanks to donor support from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The building can accommodate the 10 volunteers along with guests who stay at the Salesian community. In the summer months, the community will also house five seminarians. The community supports more than 100 children and more than 50 youth in the oratory.
