(ANS – Porto Alegre) – In a joint effort of solidarity and support, the Salesian Family in the South of Brazil has mobilised to help those displaced by the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Several activities were carried out by volunteers, groups of the Salesian Family and other associated institutions, which stood out for their organisation and effectiveness in providing assistance to victims.
(ANS – Rome)– The fourth missionary who shared his vocational and life experience at the "Return to the Sources" course for senor missionaries was Fr Michele Gentile, 84 years old from Puglia, who has been active in Albania for 33 years, a country where he was one of the pioneers of the Salesian mission, and where he continues to work.
(ANS – Rome) – On the occasion of the Bicentenary of Don Bosco's Childhood Dream, the Salesian Youth Ministry Sector has convened young people from all over the Salesian world for a meeting, to be held from 11 to 16 August in Valdocco, Turin and at Colle Don Bosco. It is not a simple meeting of young people: it is rather a process that has already begun for some time in the Provinces, in which young people have been invited to walk together, listening, speaking and praying with the aim of discerning their future and that of the Church together. It is about listening to each other, learning from each other and projecting the Gospel onto the situations they are discovering in their lives.
(ANS – Rome) – The Mary Seat of Wisdom Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) Vice-Province Team Visit took place on Saturday, 1 June and Sunday 2 June. The Rector Major, his Vicar, the Sector Councillors and the Delegate for the Salesian Family met with the Superior of the Vice-Province and its Council, the Rector and the Council of the University, Rectors of the communities and some other Salesians, in a climate of serene discussion and serious exploration.
