(ANS – Oświęcim) – The 125th anniversary of the Salesian School in Oświęcim, belonging to the Salesian Province of Kraków (PLS), was a special celebration for the entire Salesian Family in Poland, since the work is the Mother House of the Salesians in the country – that is, the oldest Salesian house in Poland. 200 years ago Don Bosco had a dream in which God called him to work with young people; his dream came true and for 125 years it has also been coming true in the Salesian School in Oswiecim.

(ANS – Rome) – On May 16, 17 and 18, the “Putting Life into Play”. A Salesian testimony on the international conference on sports and spirituality conference was held in Rome at the Institut francais “Centre Saint-Louis”. This congress was convened by the Dicastery for Culture and Education together with the French Embassy in Rome, taking advantage of the proximity of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. The appointment was also attended by Diego Pérez Ordóñez, Head of Educational Sports for the Salesians in Spain’s mary Help of Christians Province (SMX), who offers us today his direct testimony on this important event of reflection and promotion of sports understood as an educational tool and spiritual growth.

(ANS – Venice)  – A presentation of the "Marco Polo" Project. Dialogue with the East. Peace and Sustainability", involving the Salesian Evrim school in Istanbul, represented by the Headmaster, Polin Ökke, and the Salesian Vice-Principal Jacky Doyen.

(ANS – Rome) – The "Laudato Si ’" club at the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome is a reflection and work group inspired by the magisterium of Pope Francis. It promotes concrete actions of sustainability and commitment to our "Common Home", starting from the facilities, environments, people and other circumstances of the university campus.

(ANS – Tokyo) – From 8-13 May, members of the Salesian Family in Japan had various fraternal meetings with Fr Joan Lluís Playà, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, and Bro. Dominic Nguyen Nam, Salesian Brother and the Rector Major’s Delegate for the Past Pupils and Salesian Cooperators.

(ANS – Ranaghat) – Bishop Joseph Suren Gomes, S.D.B, Bishop Emeritus of Krishnagar, West Bengal, passed away on Saturday, 18 May 2024, at 5:55 a.m. in Manorama Hospital, Ranaghat, due to cardiac failure. He was 80 years old. Born on 14 February 1944 in Ashnabad, India (now in Bangladesh), Bishop Gomes dedicated his life to the service of God and the community.
