(ANS – Campinápolis) – On Friday, January 26, 2024, the District Attorney's Office of Campinápolis, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, held a meeting at the city's Rural Union to discuss strategies to address the high infant mortality rate in the region's indigenous villages. The meeting, which aimed to find solutions to the worrying situation, was attended by representatives of various organisations, including the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Department for Indigenous Health, the National Indian Foundation (FUNAI), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the House of Indigenous Health (CASAI) and the Salesian Mission.

(ANS – Kochi) – Palluruthy, Kochi witnessed a momentous event as the year-long celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan commenced on January 26, 2024. The prestigious duty of inaugurating the celebration was conferred upon the Honorable Mayor of Kochi, Mr. Anilkumar. Acknowledging the commendable efforts of the Don Bosco Society in supporting the vulnerable children of Kerala society, Mayor Anilkumar emphasized the unique 50-year collaboration between the Corporation and NGO, marking it as the first of its kind in the entire nation.

(ANS) - Twelve communicators gathered online on February 5, 2024, from the East Asia - Oceania Region to welcome the new provincial delegates of Social Communication and discuss the communication programs in the region. Together with the different delegates were Fr. Harris Pakkam, SDB, representing the Social Communications Sector from Rome and Fr. Ambrose Pereira, SDB, the EAO Regional Coordinator for Social Communications.

(ANS – Juazeiro do Norte) – The final meetings of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, took place at Juazeiro do Norte in the Brazilian State of Ceará on Sunday 4 February 2024. It was the sixth and final day of the Animation Visit to the St Aloysius Gonzaga Salesian Province of Brazil-Recife (BRE).

(ANS – Rome) – After the conclusion of the Animation Visit to the Province of Brazil-Recife, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime does not immediately return to Salesian Headquarters, but continues his trip to America: from Wednesday 7 to Monday 12 February 2024 he will carry out a new Animation Visit, this time to the St John Bosco Province of the Antilles (ANT).

(ANS – Kathmandu) – On January 2024, a group of children from the 5th grade at Nepal Don Bosco School, Sidhipur-Lubhu accompanied by their class teacher and the Principal Fr. Binu Jacob visited the settlement of the Rohingya refugees in the District of Lalitpur, a neighbouring district of Kathmandu. These refugees to Nepal were driven out of their homeland Myanmar 12 years ago.
