(ANS – Chennai) – A National Symposium on “The Heart of Educating India - Don Bosco System of Education in dialogue with 21st Century Educators” is taking place at Don Bosco College of Arts and Science, The Citadel, Chennai. It is a Salesian venture at the National level.
(ANS - Barcelona) - From 5 to 10 February in Barcelona, the regional meeting of Youth Ministry Delegates in Europe took place at the Salesian house in Martí-Codolar, Barcelona. Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry (YM), the team of his Dicastery, and about thirty people from different countries participated.
(ANS – Bruxelles) – For the second time on the commemoration of the Feast of Don Bosco, Don Bosco International (DBI) has a series of events in the European Institutions. This initiative counted with the presence of Fr. Stefano Martoglio, Regional Councillor for Europe – Mediterranean Region.
(ANS – Bonn) – “The Don Bosco Forum as a family celebration of a special kind unites happiness and celebration on the one hand; on the other, the serious and emotional discussion of the problems of children and young people worldwide,” managing director of Don Bosco Mondo, Martin Wilde, thus sums up the intention of the annual meeting of committed people in the spirit of Don Bosco. Organized by Don Bosco Mission and Don Bosco Mondo, the Don Bosco Forum takes place every year at the end of January in Bonn.
(ANS - Turin) - 31 January: Don Bosco and his love for the young are being celebrated throughout the Salesian world today, but the center of the celebration, at the charismatic and symbolic level, remains the places of Don Bosco. At Colle Don Bosco and Valdocco there will be a successsion of events and celebrations throughout the day.
(ANS - Rome) - On Sunday afternoon, January 28, Pope Francis visited the Basilica of Santa Sophia, center of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholics in Rome. He was the third Pontiff to visit the Basilica; Paul VI visited in 1969, John Paul II in 1984. In Pope Francis' address to the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic community, he recalled the history of the Catholic community in Ukraine and spoke of three great figures: cardinals Josyp Slipyj and Liubomyr Husar and Salesian bishop Stepan Czmil - whom he knew personally - buried in the basilica's crypt.
(ANS - Turin) - With the Sunday Eucharistic celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians and the subsequent summary meeting in the Teatro Grande of Valdocco, the 36th edition of the Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family has come to an end. They have been four days of sharing, of open and serious efforts towards growing yet more in the service to young people around the world.
(ANS - Turin) - The Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family have become increasingly lively with the reflections of Saturday, January 20, aimed at exploring how "to accompany in Salesian." Participants met once again with friends new and old, and gathered around the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, who dedicated a moment to have a word for everyone.
(ANS - Turin) – Step two of these current Salesian Family Days of Spirituality: a morning wherein participants gathered once again in the theater of Valdocco. In the spirit of Don Bosco, the good morning was marked by prayer animated by the novices of Pinerolo. The first part of the day focused on two presentations: the testimonies of Sister Paola Casalis, FMA, and of a young married couple, followed by the celebration of the solemn Eucharist presided over by Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop of Turin.
(ANS - Turin) - The Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family began at 4.30 pm at the Teatro Grande di Valdocco in Turin. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, X Successor of Don Bosco, welcomed and greeted the over 400 participants from over 50 nations from all over the world.
