RMG – Detailed programme of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2025

(ANS - Rome) - About 350 people, coming from all over the world and belonging to dozens of the 32 groups of the Salesian Family, are preparing to experience the 43rd Salesian Family Spirituality Days (SFSD2025) in Valdocco. This edition, occurring in the climate of the Jubilee and in the memory and with the impetus of the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition, will serve to cultivate life, mission and communion shared among the various groups, in the light of the message of the Strenna for 2025: ‘Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people’.

Here is the detailed programme of the SFSD.

16 January - Thursday: ‘Pilgrims in Valdocco’

9:00am: Welcome;

3:00pm: Opening Session SFSD 2025 (visible on YouTube);
Presentation of the days and prayer;
Video and commentary of the Strenna with Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major;

6:30pm: Celebration of the Eucharist in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, main celebrant Fr Martoglio (visible on YouTube);

9:00pm: Prayer in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, entitled ‘Mary, joyful pilgrim’ followed by Goodnight (session visible on YouTube);

17 January - Friday: ‘Anchored in Hope’

8:30am: Community prayer and projection of the video ‘Pilgrims on the way’ (session visible on YouTube);

9:00am: Exploring the Strenna: ‘Anchored in the hope that does not disappoint’, talk by Cristiana Freni, from the Pontifical Salesian University (session visible on YouTube);

11:30am: Meeting for language groups;

1:00pm: Lunch break;

2:15pm: Free visits to some Salesian places;

3:30pm: Pilgrimage to Turin Cathedral, departing from the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians;

5:10pm: Welcome at the Cathedral;

5:30pm: Celebration of the Eucharist in the Cathedral, main celebrant Bishop Alessandro Giraudo, Auxiliary Bishop of Turin and Susa;

6:30pm: Presentation of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati;

7:30pm: Return to Valdocco and dinner;

9:00pm: Prayer with music, meditation and silence in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians: ‘In-canto for Jesus’, followed by ‘Goodnight’;

18 January - Saturday: ‘Pilgrims with young people’

8:30am: Personal prayer;

9:00am: Celebration of the Eucharist in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, main celebrant Card. Cristóbal López, SDB, Archbishop of Rabat (visible on YouTube);

10:00am: Official photo of the GSFS 2025;

10:25am: Listening to young people: round table with the young participants at the Salesian Youth Synod (visible on YouTube);

11:45am: Exchange with the young people from the round table;

1:00pm: Lunch break;

2:15pm: Free visits to some Salesian places;

3:30pm: ‘Missionary Expeditions Yesterday-Mission Apostles Today’: Meeting with Card. Cristóbal López, SDB, Archbishop of Rabat (session visible on YouTube);

4:30pm: Workshops on the mission in some of the countries dreamt of by Don Bosco and testimonies from Patagonia, Uruguay, Japan (Miyazaki), Ecuador (on the future Santa Maria Troncatti), Brazil, North East Africa, and on Project Africa and the Don Bosco Mission Community;

7:30pm: Dinner;

9:00pm: Fraternal evening;

19 January - Sunday: ‘The pilgrimage continues: let us walk together with the young people’

9:00am: Personal prayer;

9:30am: Celebration of the Sunday Eucharist in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, main celebrant Fr Martoglio (visible on YouTube);

11:00am: Meeting by membership groups;

12:00 noon: Closing session (visible on YouTube).

The Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2025 promise to be an event of grace and communion, in which the profound sense of belonging to a large spiritual family will be expressed.
