Cape Town, South Africa - September 2016 - On 21 September, the students from the "Salesian Learn to Live School of Skills" in Cape Town, celebrated World Day of Peace. Sixteen hundred messages of peace were distributed to the public through various interventions and the young people were encouraged to be ambassadors of peace in their communities. Most of the young participants come from areas where violence is widespread.

Tiruchy, India - September 2016 - The annual meeting of the "Don Bosco National Forum for Youth at Risk" (DBNF Yar) was held on 13-14 September.  Thirty-eight members participated. The meeting was chaired by Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, new President of DBNF Yar. During the meeting the Salesians shared their experience and drew up and presented a framework for Salesian ministry with young immigrants at risk with the aim of promoting the integral development of the young people we minister to. 

Kigali, Rwanda - September 2016 - The annual meeting of the Youth Ministry Delegates of the Africa-Madagascar Region took place from 12 to 15 September. It was chaired by Fr Fabio Attard, Councillor General for Youth Ministry. The meeting was led by Father Patrick Anthonyraj, the Regional Coordinator, and Fr François Dufour, representative of CIVAM (Conference of the Provinces and Vice Provinces of Africa-Madagascar).

Santiago, Cuba - September 2016 - From 12 to 16 September the Salesian confreres of Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, participated in a retreat.

Ivato, Madagascar - September 2016 - On 20 September Fr Innocent Bizimana was installed as the new Vicar of the Vice-Province of Madagascar and Mauritius  and Rector of "Maison Don Bosco" in Ivato. The ceremony was presided over by the Superior of the Vice-Province, Fr Charles Armand Randimbisoa, in the presence of the three Salesian communities of the country's capital and the members of the Council of the Vice-Province.

Darjeeling, India – 18 September 2016 - The Salesian School of Don Bosco Mirik which recently received an award for the best infrastructure of the Schools of North Bengal, hosted an interfaith celebration of homage to Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Speaking to about 250 people - Christians, Buddhists, Muslims and followers of Sai Bhakts and Krishna – the Headmaster, Fr Jose Velloorputhenpura, SDB, recalled that it was during a retreat in Darjeeling that the future saint clearly heard the call to start the institute of the Missionaries of Charity.
