Kosice, Slovakia - September 2016 - On 10 September, five Salesians from Slovakia made their Perpetual Professions in the Church of the Holy Family in Košice.  Four of them, Tomáš Danko, Marek Pančura, Peter Roth and Marek Vaško, are continuing their theological studies in Turin, while Vladimír Plášek is studying in Jerusalem, Israel.

(ANS - Rome) - Just a few days after his return to the Generalate from Central America, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, is preparing to leave for a new intercontinental journey. This time it will include the Salesians, the Salesian Family and youth of the Vice-Province of Zambia-Zimbabwe-Malawi-Namibia.

For this reason, Don Bosco International joined another 176 European and national institutions, in a manifesto published Monday 12 September at the Bratislava summit.

(ANS - Rome) - On 12 September, 481 young people began National Community Service with the Salesians: 448 in Italy and 43 abroad (Spain, Bosnia, Palestine, Angola, Madagascar, Bolivia) – they are 481 reasons to hope for a world with a more beautiful face. As Pope Francis said to the young people at WYD in Krakow: "He [the Lord] wants your hands to continue to build the world today."

Montreal, Canada - September 2016 - The Salesians of Canada took part in a retreat led by Bishop Yvon Moreau, O.C.S.O., on the theme "Called to Holiness."

Makati City, Philippines - September 2016 - To celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, on Thursday 8 September the lay people involved in the Salesian mission in the northern Philippines made a special Jubilee pilgrimage, visiting five churches of the Archdiocese of Manila. In the first church they received a special "Jubilee Passport", which was stamped at all subsequent stages. Then, after going through the different Holy Doors and fulfilling all the conditions to obtain the indulgence, they received a souvenir certificate of their participation in the jubilee at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart.
