(ANS - New Delhi) - International diplomatic efforts for the release of Fr Tom Uzhunnalil continue. The Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) in a letter sent last Tuesday, made a specific appeal to the Indian government to take all possible means to secure the release of the Salesian priest from his captors. In the same letter, the prelates also confirm that the Holy See is also at work through its diplomatic channels.
(ANS - Bogotá) - "When it happens that a Salesian dies working for souls the Congregation has won a great triumph" (see MB XVII, 273). The truth of this can be seen from the letter that the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, sent to Fr Jaime Enrique Alfonso Morales, Provincial of the Province of Bogota. In it he expresses his sorrow and laments "from the heart the death of the Salesian Fr Javier de Nicolò, an exemplary priest and educator, who dedicated his life to transforming the lives of thousands of abandoned young people."
(ANS - Hong Kong) - On the day when the universal Church was celebrating its most important feast, the Resurrection of the Lord, the Salesian Family in Hong Kong had an additional reason to rejoice: the arrival at the Salesian parish of Mary Help of Christians in Tang King Po, of a casket containing a relic of Don Bosco.

Ukraine – Youth Ministry in time of war: the gift of the "little things"
(ANS – Donetsk) – A situation like a country invaded and at war necessarily leads to "reductions": in security, goods, possibilities, and sometimes it seems necessary that even dreams and expectations must necessarily be less... But not every lessening means impoverishment. Sometimes it is just a return to the simplicity of our origins, our roots. This is what Salesian Bishop Maksym Ryabukha, Auxiliary Bishop of the Greek-Catholic Exarchate of Donetsk, Ukraine, tells us today in the continuation of his reflection on what he can teach the universal Church, and in particular the Salesians scattered around the world, about the experience of Youth Ministry carried out in a time of war.
