After successfully passing all online auditions, Kitkupar Nongsiej will represent India at the WCOPA, which will take place from July 17 to 25, 2025, in Long Beach, California. Competitors from 70 countries will compete for medals, awards, scholarships, and cash prizes.
Thrilled about his selection, Kitkupar met with Fr. Michael Makri, SDB, Director General of Don Bosco Media Network and Director of Don Bosco Youth Centre, to express his gratitude for the guidance and inspiration that helped him prepare at an international level. He promised to give his best effort to bring success to Don Bosco Media Network and the INS Province.
“Ka Sur Kynud” is an annual singing competition organized by Don Bosco Media Network to provide young talents in Meghalaya with a platform to showcase their vocal skills. Participants receive two months of free vocal training from professional coaches, and the winner gets the opportunity to compete internationally. In its first season (2023), the winner, 11-year-old Chevinia Lyngdoh Mawnai, participated in “Vocal Star” in the UK and won the title.
