(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, is about to set out on another journey. From tomorrow Friday 4 November until next Tuesday, he will be visiting the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians in Slovakia, accompanied by his secretary, Fr Horacio López.

(ANS - Freetown) - Two years ago the World Health Organization declared that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa was over. The epidemic caused about 4,000 deaths and over 14,000 cases of infection. Two years later Sierra Leone has fallen into oblivion. This country experienced one of the longest and cruellest civil wars, and yet the Salesians have always remained close to the people and to young people.

(ANS - Madrid) - In the words of Jonathan Bergmann, professor of chemistry and one of the authors of the teaching model known as the “flipped classroom”, the best resource in a classroom are the teachers. Teachers, therefore, should be aware of improvements in educational practice and offer better ideas to their students, so that the students can feel active and that their presence in school may be effective and profitable for their lives.

    (ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

    (ANS – Río Grande) – From February 19 to 21, the cities of Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia hosted the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”, organized by the University Network for the Care of the Common Home (RUC) and the Municipality of Río Grande, with support from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF). The event brought together universities from Argentina, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss sustainability and conservation in these regions, with the Salesian University of Argentina (UNISAL) playing an important role.
