RMG - Programme of the Rector Major’s visit to Slovakia

(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, is about to set out on another journey. From tomorrow Friday 4 November until next Tuesday, he will be visiting the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians in Slovakia, accompanied by his secretary, Fr Horacio López.

After landing in Bratislava tomorrow afternoon, he will meet the members of the Provincial Council. He will celebrate the Eucharist with them and will visit the birthplace of the Servant of God Fr Titus Zeman SDB at Vajnory.

On Saturday he will be in Žilina. His time will be divided equally between meeting the members of the Salesian Family in Slovakia in the morning and meeting young people who attend Salesian works in the afternoon.

On Sunday he will visit two places, Prešov and Poprad. The Rector Major will have a specific meeting with the Volunteers of Don Bosco, and then he will meet all the Salesians working in the eastern part of the country.

Finally, on Monday 7 November, he will visit Nová Dubnica, where he will meet with the Salesians of the Western part of Slovakia and in the evening there will be one last meeting with the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

The Rector Major will leave Slovakia on the morning of Tuesday 8 November. After a brief stop in Rome he will leave on 10 November for a new series of visits to the Salesians and the Salesian Family in South Asia. He will remain there until 20 November visiting the provinces of Sri Lanka (LKC), India-Tiruchy (INT) and India-Hyderabad (INH).
