(ANS - Nairobi) – For over 30 years Salesian missionaries have been offering vocational training and human formation to the youth of Kenya. In Kuwinda district, in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, they run a parish and a primary school for children and adolescents. But last Saturday evening, the area was reduced to ashes by a raging fire that quickly spread through the houses built of wood. The problem is not only the physical destruction suffered, but the large number of children and families deprived of everything and in need of help.
(ANS - Piura) - The Don Bosco Salesian Institute in Piura is a well-known school in the city. It has more than 100 years of service to the community and its classrooms have seen generations of young people, many of whom today are important people. Now it has been hit by torrential rains. The river has flooded the playground and classrooms, and has entered every part of the school. Despite the efforts of workers and Salesians who had taken everything from the floor and placed it on the desks, the water reached 1.50 and then 1.70 metres ... ruining everything!
(ANS - Rome) - When the resourcefulness and ability of young people meet the expertise and careful guidance of good teachers, great results become possible, despite the youthfulness of the people involved. "Wisdom and science, foresee and provide" said Don Bosco. In recent days, news has come from different parts of the world of some important results achieved by students of Salesian institutions.
