(ANS - Lubumbashi) - Poverty and family breakdown are the main reasons for the large number of children and young people who crowd the streets of Lubumbashi, the third largest city of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Often their only shelter is the market stalls, cardboard boxes and an improvised fire.
(ANS - Quito) - Paúl Naikiai Jintiach, a young man from the Shuar indigenous people of the Amazon, was chosen to give the official speech on behalf of the graduate students. The young man thanked the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) for the support offered during their personal and professional formation. In particular, he wanted to remember the people who work at the Intercultural University Residence, where Naikiai spent the past five years of his life. "This has been my home. Today we bid farewell to this beautiful university and start a new phase, as professionals," he said.
(ANS - São Marcos) - "A nation or a church who forget their martyrs do not deserve to survive," wrote Bishop Pedro Casaldaliga, bishop of the poor. The Bororo - a population that has had two martyrs, Fr Rodolfo Lunkenbein, SDB, and their indigenous brother Simão - do not want to forget them and indeed, they do not forget them. On Sunday 2 April, a large number of faithful and friends held a procession (romaria) to the place where the two martyrs shed their blood for their people when they were killed.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Argentina – UNISAL Participates in the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”(ANS – Río Grande) – From February 19 to 21, the cities of Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia hosted the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”, organized by the University Network for the Care of the Common Home (RUC) and the Municipality of Río Grande, with support from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF). The event brought together universities from Argentina, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss sustainability and conservation in these regions, with the Salesian University of Argentina (UNISAL) playing an important role.
