(ANS - Mbuji-Mayi) - A healthcare centre for street children, many of whom are involved secretly and illegally in searching for diamonds, will be built on the initiative of the Spanish NGO Manos Unidas at the Salesian complex Muetu Don Bosco in Mbuji-Mayi, in the south-central Democratic Republic of Congo, where about a third of the world’s industrial diamonds are extracted.
(ANS - Mandalay) - The Salesian centre for street boys in Mandalay, the second most important city of Myanmar, now has a new dormitory and a new refectory, thanks to the generous donation of a wealthy retired US businessman of Jewish origin, and his wife. Fr Peter Myo Khin, SDB, who runs this Salesian centre, and all the young people in need who reside there are very grateful for this beautiful gesture.
(ANS - Rome) - In March 1947 renovation and adaptation started on what was Forte Prenestino to convert it into Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco - Don Bosco Boys’ Town - one of the iconic works of the Salesians in Rome. It is the visible expression of the attention to young people most in need which is so characteristic of Salesian work.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Argentina – UNISAL Participates in the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”(ANS – Río Grande) – From February 19 to 21, the cities of Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia hosted the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”, organized by the University Network for the Care of the Common Home (RUC) and the Municipality of Río Grande, with support from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF). The event brought together universities from Argentina, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss sustainability and conservation in these regions, with the Salesian University of Argentina (UNISAL) playing an important role.

This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
