NEWS
(ANS - Arequipa) - There are worrying data on the condition of children and adolescents in Peru. More than 120,000 teenagers are working instead of studying. Every day you can meet thousands of children working in the street. Some sell candy, others shine your shoes. The Salesians of Peru have chosen to change the lives of thousands of youngsters. Now after 33 years they have come together for a meeting in Arequipa, the city where the first Don Bosco House was founded in 1983.
(ANS – Genzano, Rome) – When Don Bosco arrived in Turin, he came up against a hell. Don Cafasso led him to the streets to let him know the reality. Don Bosco saw the real and true misery: slavery, prison, people sentenced to death, exploited children, abandoned youth without their parents, without a home, without education, without religion. After more than one hundred years, the Sons of Don Bosco continue to live this drama of the youth, but give it some responses. The Salesian novices of Genzano, in Rome, want to be another Don Bosco in our time.
(ANS – Mumbai) – The major commissions of the Salesians in India like “Don Bosco Action India”, the national network for social development; “Don Bosco Tech”,that focuses on skilling India; “Forum of Young at Risk” and others met at the Don Bosco Provincial House in Mumbai on February 26, for their fifth annual meeting.
