(ANS - Rome) - India, Brazil, United States, Italy ... but also Papua New Guinea, Jerusalem, Mongolia, Burkina Faso, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Bangladesh, Paraguay, Myanmar ...To look at the map of the locations where the “Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival” is taking place means leafing through the great atlas of Salesian work with the youngest and glancing at their creativity and their desire to inflame the world with hope. Since yesterday, Thursday 18 November, in over 270 places in the world, in over 50 countries, the screenings of the short films and the celebratory shows have begun. The wait peaks this afternoon when the winners shall be announced from Valdocco.
(ANS - Rome) - "What prompted me to make the missionary choice is none other than love, the will to give myself to others and to serve Christ as a missionary ad gentes." Thus says, with the serene determination the young missionary Cito Christophe Kasavubu, a 27-year-old Congolese Salesian, who will receive the Missionary Crucifix in Turin next Sunday, 21 November, to then leave for his final destination. He is one of those who have made a long discernment before making a fundamental decision for their lives. He is assigned to the Salesian missions on the island of Cape Verde, belonging to the Province of Portugal (POR).
(ANS – Rome) – The four days online meeting of Youth Ministry Delegates of East Asia Oceania was held from 10-13 November 2021. 17 delegates from the provinces and delegations participated in this important moment of animation and formation by the Youth Ministry Department. Fr Miguel Angel García Morcuende, the General Councillor and Fr Patrick Anthonyraj animated the sessions.
(ANS - Rome) – As for the New Year’s Eve, so too for the "Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival", the party advances to the rhythm of the sun and covers the planet’s various time zones to join young people from all over the world in a single voice of hope. In Oceania and in countries where the 18 November was the first to begin, screenings and events are already underway to celebrate and reward the creativity and commitment of the youth to this global Salesian film initiative.
(ANS - Rome) - Malgache, just 25-years-old, the youngest of three children, but above all full of Salesian energy and enthusiasm -this is, in a nutshell, the identikit of Germain Maevatoky, member of the 152nd Salesian Missionary Expedition, destined to serve in the Middle East Province. "I leave my country to become a missionary according to the heart of Jesus and Don Bosco," he affirms with conviction.
(ANS – Rome) – From 15 to 28 November 2021 about twenty Salesians from all over the Salesian world gathered at the Salesian Headquarters in Rome to “Listen to, Interpret and Synthesize” the 4462 responses to the questionnaires sent out in May 2021 regarding the revision of the Salesian Ratio.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners
(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
