About 60 participants are expected, namely, two speakers / animators - Fr Rossano Sala, former Special Secretary to the Synod of Bishops on young people; and Dr. Lodovica Maria Zanet, collaborator of the Postulation of the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family; and as many as 57 people, including Provincials and Directors, spiritual assistants or Delegates of the different groups of the Salesian Family.
In total, 26 of the 31 Salesian Family groups will be represented - which, as a whole, has nearly 300,000 members.
The work will open on the morning of Tuesday 21st with the greetings of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime and the presentation of the participants and the program of activities by the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, Fr Eusebio Muñoz.
Fr Sala will then explain what the Synod of Youth represents for the Church and the Salesian Family. In the afternoon, thanks to the presentations of Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General of the Causes of the Salesian Family, and of Dr. Zanet, the theme of holiness in the Salesian Family will be studied in depth; to follow, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) and the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), shall each present their own group.
On the morning of Wednesday 22, the reflections will continue on the theme of Salesian spirituality as "a journey of apostolic and educational holiness", and the presentations of four other groups of the Salesian Family will take place: the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart (SOSC), the Sisters of Resurrection (HR), the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel (CSSMA), and the Daughters of the Divine Savior (HDS).
The day also includes a time to learn more about Valdocco as a "land of holiness".
Scheduled on the last day is the review of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days 2019, as well as the presentation of various service communiqués: on the Site of the Salesian Family, on the VIII Congress of Mary Help of Christians scheduled for next November in Buenos Aires, and in this regard, information to be shared between the Secretariat for the Salesian Family and the various groups belonging to it.
Finally, as is customary, the groups of the Council shall offer their suggestions to the Rector Major on the theme of the next Strenna; and lastly, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime will summarize what he experienced in these days of spirituality and fraternity.
