(ANS - Rome) - For the Church, October represents a "missionary month". The missionary dimension is manifested from day one, with the liturgical memory of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Patroness of the Missions and Doctor of the Church, and then reaches its peak on the third Sunday of the month, with World Mission Day. But October 2019 is special, because Pope Francis proclaimed it "an extraordinary missionary month".
(ANS - Rome) - Why is it important to create a website? In the digital age, it would seem to have been an inappropriate question. "The Internet," wrote one of the directors of Google, E. Schmidt, "has become a ubiquitous and multi-faceted element of energy and human expression ... Hundreds of millions of people create and consume an incalculable amount of digital content every minute." In a meeting on September 30, with this premise, the "Salesian Institutions of Higher Education" (IUS) signed an agreement for the creation of a web portal, a big job that will benefit thousands of young university students.
(ANS - Rome) - The reality of schools in Europe and the Middle East, rich in cultural and pedagogical diversity, challenges the Salesians to a continuous and ongoing renewal of their identity and their proposals. The Salesian educational-pastoral project in Europe and the Middle East contains a set of values and practices that develop in an environment that is like an "educational mosaic" of diversity. With this objective in mind, the Directors of the Salesian schools of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) met on 2 and 3 October at the FMA Generalate in Rome for the 25th meeting of the Europe and Middle East School Commission.
(ANS - Rome) - 129 days from the beginning of the 28th General Chapter, the interviews with members of the Valdocco Community continue, all leading us to discover the most significant places. Rome, Italy - October 2019 - On 8 October Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, received from Fr Daniel García Reynoso, World Coordinator of social works and services for youth at risk, and a member of the same Dicastery, the Proceedings of the World Council celebrated from 27 to 31 March 2019 in the Salesian Headquarters of Rome. The reflection, the contributions and above all the "Final Declaration of the Consulta" represent an important contribution to the next GC28.
(ANS - Rome) - It was last May 24, the day of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, when Giampietro Pettenon, president of Missioni Don Bosco, explained the project "Casa Don Bosco", a new space that will be inaugurated in 2020, to ANS.
