(ANS – Rome) – In a world spinning faster by the day—where the youth are often overwhelmed, overlooked, or lost in the noise—a humble force continues to burn steadily. It is a fire first kindled in Valdocco, Turin, and now blazing with purpose across Luzon, Philippines. This is the Salesian North Province, officially known as FIN: the Philippine North Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
(ANS – Los Angeles) – April 12, 2025, it was not just another Saturday. The Salesian Family Youth Center became the heart of a movement as more than 100 young people from across Los Angeles came together, not to be talked to but to be heard. The theme was clear: “We Are the Now.” From the first moment, it was clear that this wasn't just a conference. It was a declaration.
(ANS – Rome) – Perhaps one of the lesser known features of GC29 for those of us outside the daily workings of this body has been the constant and very active presence of Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major Emeritus. Along with the now 232 Chapter members (following the addition of various newly-elected members who were not previously part of the Chapter), Fr Pascual has conducted himself as every other member, being a regular part of the daily Assemblies and also active in the regular commission meetings. But he has also played a special role in summing up each week’s activities in a feature which he has called, in Italian, ‘fare il punto’, which has been translated in English as ‘taking stock’.

To celebrate a General Chapter in one place or in some other place is not an indifferent matter. Certainly, being at Valdocco, in the "cradle of the charism", we have the opportunity to rediscover the beginnings of our history and rediscover the originality that constitutes the heart of our identity as consecrated persons and apostles to the young.
