In order for the event to take place, several proposals have been made since the beginning of the year, including the publication of an e-book on the theme "Educommunication in the perspective of the Global Educational Pact", the presentation of the proposal in a meeting for directors and coordinators and the creation of a website with aids for study in educational units.
During the first semester, schools were invited to organize and send relevant ongoing projects. 55 experiences of different dimensions and realities were sent, among which five were chosen to be presented on the first day of the Forum. The experiences presented showed how education can concretely act in social, environmental, economic, political and pastoral causes, promoting the transformation of the environments in which students live.
The Forum counted on the active participation of students from elementary to high school. On the first day, several children, adolescents and young people were able to briefly express, representing everyone, what the school of their dreams is. The listening process continued on the second day in the nine simultaneous digital classrooms organized by school groups, in which it was recalled what Pope Francis proposes with the Global Educational Pact. Hence the question: "What can we do to make education help build a better world for everyone?"
The answers were shared in the plenary session and each school was then able to choose the commitments and practices to be developed at the local level.
Among the ideas raised, we point out just a few:
- An education that promotes the enhancement of the human being, addressing various types of violence (bullying, homophobia, prejudice ...);
- An education aimed at economic and environmental sustainability;
- Promotion of an integral ecology, which deals not only with environmental issues, but also with social, emotional and family ones.
- Creation of listening spaces and participation of families in the projects developed by the school;
- Creation of a culture of solidarity; promotion of projects that have an impact on the local reality;
- Elaboration of a life plan from an early age;
- Communication education;
- Financial education;
- Education for an information overload context.
- Implementation of flexible curricula: sports, art, technology;
- An education aimed at Social Transformation, which combines theory and practice;
At the end of the Forum, each school took on the commitment to continue the reflections started during these two days.
