SPECIAL REPORTS
(ANS - Nairobi) - Killed at the age of 17, from the ruthless shot of a gun that was fired at him even though he was blameless and just happened to be in the wrong company. This is the tragic story of Richard Muiruri, a former street boy who was attending the Salesian Centre "Bosco Boys" in Nairobi and had already embarked on a path of growth and maturity as a man and as a Christian.
(ANS - Rome) - Mary, Karla, Bana Konda and who knows how many others. There are millions of mothers who make sacrifices out of love. In many countries "Mother's Day" is celebrated in this month of May, the moth of Mary. Here we report some examples of courageous mothers who, with a little support at important moments of life, have become educators for the development of their children and their communities.
(ANS - Kinshasa) - The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country of contrasts. The former Belgian colony is the largest country in Central Africa with a wealth of impressive resources, but a reality marked by mismanagement and violence. The DRC was also the first partner country of the Belgian Salesian NGO "Via Don Bosco", active in the field of education and training. There is still a special relationship between the two parties, with the NGO supporting the employment of young graduates from local Salesian professional schools.
(ANS - Rome) - May 20, 2017 will be a day of celebration for the entire Salesian Family: the Institute of the Volunteers of Don Bosco (VDB) will be celebrating 100 years of life. The Volunteers, founded by Fr Philip Rinaldi in 1917 in Turin, now number around 1200 and are present in 58 countries around the world.
