SPECIAL REPORTS

(ANS - São Paulo) - Don Bosco's vocational journey, as in all vocational paths, was not all easy, carefree or to be taken for granted. Doubts and difficulties were present in his maturation and decision-making process. Don Bosco also had doubts. He dreamed of becoming a Franciscan. He persistently wondered what his mission would be, where he should carry out his pastoral task. His life was marked by indecisions and uncertainty, but in the midst of his life he knew that there was a "medicine" that God sent him: it was Father Cafasso, his spiritual director.

(ANS - Rome) - Pope Francis' closeness to the Salesian Family is well-known: the numerous ties with several Salesians meaningful to his life, the school year at the Institute of Ramos Mejía, his devotion to Mary Help of Christians ... But in the message he sent on the occasion of the 28th General Chapter of the Salesian Congregation, Pope Francis amazes for the intimate and profound knowledge of Don Bosco's charism. Thus, speaking with familiarity, as if it were a simple "goodnight" in the oratory, he helps to identify the answer to the Chapter's question: "What Salesians for today's young people?" For the Argentine pontiff, the answer is: "the Salesian of the XXI century is a man full of hope because he knows that his centre is in the Lord, able to make all things new."

(ANS - Rome) - Faced with the emergency for the spread of COVID-19, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, World Delegate of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), and the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, from the courtyard of Valdocco invited everyone to recite an "Extraordinary World Novena to Mary Help of Christians." This is why Fr Cameroni invites us today to live and trust fully in God and to put ourselves in the hands of Mary Help of Christians.

Mexico – Proyecto Salesiano 2020

(ANS – Tijuana) – For many of the students from Salesian College Preparatory, Richmond, and St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School, Watsonville, the word that exemplifies their experiences in Tijuana, Mexico, is “gratitude.” In their reflections, the word “gratitude” resounded over and over again. Dennis, a junior, said that the experience helped him realize his blessings in life and how grateful he is for his parents.
