Mondonio, Italy – This photograph is one of the oldest in the photographic archives of the Generalate. It shows the house where "at 10.00 p.m. on 9 March 1857, Dominic Savio died a holy death, exclaiming: 'Oh! What a beautiful thing I see! '". This inscription is recorded on the wall of the room where the saint died.

Beagle Bay, Australia - 1906 - Visit to the Salesian Missions at Beagle Bay, Australia, by Bishop William Bernard Kelly, at that time bishop of Geraldton and Vicar Apostolic of Kimberley, Western Australia. Several Salesians were present and the boys from the local boarding school. The Salesians had to leave the missionary work in 1927 following a number of restrictions in immigration policies.

Taipei, Taiwan – 19 March 2017 – This year we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Mass celebrated by the Salesian missionaries at Taipei Bosco's Hall. The photograph shows the start of Salesian work in Taipei. To realize the missionary dream of Don Bosco, the Salesians had to travel across the ocean, before reaching Macao, then Hong Kong and finally Taiwan. When they reached the island they went first to Tainan, where they started a vocational school and a parish, and later went to Taipei in 1964.

Kotagiri, India - 1955 - The Salesian novices in a small town called Kotagiri, in a Salesian work in the middle of a beautiful nature park of India. In the picture you can see a good group of novices dressed in the white cassock who were candidates for priesthood, and other novices in civvies destined to become Salesian Brothers.
