(ANS - Rome) – In future, when the Rector Major and his Councillors go to the various regions for the Team Visit, they will carry with them a small statue of Don Bosco. It is in contemporary style and a bit different from traditional images. Mauro Baldassarri, the artist who created the statue, has spoken about his relationship with Don Bosco and about art and education.
(ANS – Salem) – Des Williams is a Bosco Volunteer Action (BOVA) volunteer from Scotland, who took some time out of running his own business to spend 4 months volunteering at Don Bosco Care Home, Salem, India. He has spent time reflecting on his experiences during and after his placement and shares with us some of his thoughts a few months after returning to the UK.
(ANS – Laga) – “When I think about the beginning of my missionary vocation, I recall always how, as a child, my mother used to call me to do something: ‘Please come and do this or that.’ Whenever mom called I would stop whatever I was doing and I would try my best to do what she asked me to do. My missionary vocation is similar to this call at a certain moment of my life.”
