(ANS - Port Louis) - The island of Mauritius is a surprising haven located east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Under the waters of Mauritius, writes National Geographic, "there are hidden fragments of a lost continent 200 million years old." Fr Heriberto Cabrera, a Salesian from Chile, works in this wonderful, exotic and surprising paradise. This is how he describes his mission on the island of Mauritius.
(ANS - Turin) - The community of the Salesian Institute of Valsalice in Turin has collected €15,000 to help the earthquake victims in central Italy. Bishop Domenico Pompili of the diocese of Rieti which includes some of the territory most affected, went to the Institute to collect the money and talk to the students.
(ANS - Calulo) - José Simon Galarza was born in Argentina. In 1970, as a student, he had the blessing of meeting a Salesian educator, Brother Andrés Rafael Randisi. "This Salesian put in my heart the seed of service. Now, after many years I went to Angola to meet him and get to know his silent missionary work."
