Benediktbeuern, Germany - April 2016 - On 22 and 23 April in the monastery of Benediktbeuern over 200 benefactors and friends of Salesian work celebrated the 15th anniversary of the founding of Don Bosco Stiftungszentrum, an organization founded in 2001 to promote projects on behalf of children and young people in Salesian houses around the world. Among those present were the Rectors of various Salesian works, project staff, Salesians and also Bishop Stefan Oster SDB, of Passau, who opened the event. Participants were able to get to know each other and learn about some Salesian projects in Germany and abroad. In 2015 the Don Bosco Stiftungszentrum distributed over 1.6 million euro. 

Belo Horizonte, Brazil - April 2016 - The first stage of formation for Salesian youth leaders of the Province of Belo Horizonte was held on 9 April with 35 participants from the parishes, schools and social works.

Lima, Peru - April 2016 - A Meeting of the Provincial Delegates for SDB and FMA Schools of the Andean Region was held on 28-29 April.  There were 11 participants. The meeting was chaired by Fr Miguel Ángel García, head of the section for Schools and  Vocational Training Centres in the Salesian Youth Ministry Depatment. The aim of the meeting was to share the progress of the educational and pastoral processes for the Salesian school developed in the region, in the light of policies agreed during the American Continental Meeting of the Salesian School (ESA III - 2008) and in preparation for ESA IV scheduled for next year in Medellin.

Indonesia - April 2016 - Fr Alfred Maravilla, from the Missions Sector concluded his visit of missionary animation to the Delegation of Indonesia. From 26 April to 1 May he visited the houses of formation in Sunter, Serpong and Sumba, meeting the aspirants, novices and post-novices and their formators and speaking to them  about the missionary spirit as an essential element of the charism of Don Bosco.

Sliema, Malta - May 2016 - A Meeting of the Provincials of the Region of Central and Northern Europe (16 Provinces and 2 Delegations) was held from 28 April to 1 May under the leadership of the Regional Councillor Fr Tadeusz Rozmus.  It dealt with current problems and the most important challenges in the region. Also present were the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Francesco Cereda; the Economer General, Bro. Jean Paul Muller; the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, Fr Eusebio Muñoz; the President of the Association of Past Pupils, Mr Michal Hort, and Fr Rafael Gasol who is responsible for Project Valdocco. Particularly significant was the visit of the President of the Republic of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro, who expressed her appreciation for the Salesian charism and the presence of the Salesians in Malta, highlighting the great value and relevance of their educational work on behalf of poor youth.

Melbourne, Australia - April 28, 2016 - Ms Lauren Hichaaba, Director of the Cagliero Project for lay volunteers of the Salesian Mission and member of the central staff of the Province of Australia (AUL), has been elected first Provincial Delegate for Missionary Animation. She will have the central role of promoting the missionary spirit and animating the Salesians and the Salesian Family in AUL, in order to achieve growth and to strengthen the Salesian missionary movement.
