Lomé, Togo – 17 April 2016 – On April 17th, Fr. Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation, in the “Don Rinaldi Novitiate” met 20 novices of the West Africa Francophone Province (AFO) and of the Africa Tropical Equatorial Vice-Province (ATE). After a warm welcome, there was a very fraternal and spontaneous two-hours’ encounter-dialogue with the novices. Then there was the celebration of the Mass at the conclusion of the Spiritual retreat that preceded the AFO Province Chapter. The Mass was presided over by Msgr. Miguel Angel Olaverri, Salesian Bishop of Pointe Noire, Congo Brazzaville. In the afternoon, Fr. Coelho met with the Novitiate formation team.

Isole delle Femmine, Italy - April 2016 – The Second National Meeting of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) took place from 15 to 17 April, on the theme "With Jesus, in the Church, for the world." The meeting which takes place every two years elaborated on the documents of the conference in Florence and on the 2016 Strenna of the Rector Major.  The more than 400 participants discussed the concrete experiences of the Salesian Cooperators, shared the situation in their own centre and their experience of faith. Archbishop Corrado Lorefice of Palermo and Archbishop Michele Pennisi of Monreale were also present, the latter presiding over the concluding Eucharist.

Nasugbu, Philippines - April 2016 - On 18 April Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Councillor for the Southern Asia Region, concluded the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Province of the Northern Philippines (FIN) He had a meeting with the Provincial, Fr  Paul Bicomong, and his Council to share observations and recommendations. During the visit, which began on 4 February, Fr Kanaga took part in a meeting with the directors, visited the 26 Salesian Houses and listened to all the Salesians. He also participated in the re-enthronement of the Statue of Mary Help of Christians in Manila Cathedral at a ceremony which was presided over by the Archbishop of Manila, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. On 8 March he gave a good night at a meeting of the Provincials and Delegates of the East Asia-Oceania Region, in the presence of the Rector Major and some General Councillors.

Lwena, Angola - April 2016 – On 19 April the campus ministry group Lwena went to a home for street kids for a day of games and friendship.

Seattle, United States - April 8, 2016 - The "Don Bosco Technical Institute's Symphonic Band", Rosemead, participated in Seattle at the annual competition for bands, orchestras and choirs in high school, called "WorldStrides Heritage Performance Music Festival." Among the 13 schools participating the Bosco Tech Band took first place and the "gold" rating by the jury of the festival, the best score in the category of instrumental music. The Ovation award was given to one of its members, Elias Hosseini, for his determination and service. 

Caracas, Venezuela - April 2016 - The Chapter of the Salesian province of Venezuela (VEN) took place from 10 to 15 April. In his homily the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Aldo Giordano, said: "on behalf of Pope Francis I am pleased to say thank you for your life and mission for the Church in Venezuela. As a Piedmontese I feel particularly proud of the presence of the very rich charism of Don Bosco in this 'land of grace', especially in the educational field, with young people, in marginalized areas of the country. "
