Buenos Aires, Argentina - October 2016 - A Meeting of the Provincials of the American Southern Cone Region took place from 24 to 28 October, in the presence of Fr Natale Vitali, Councillor for the American Southern Cone Region; Bro. Jean-Paul Muller, Economer General; Fr Fabio Attard, Councillor for Youth Ministry; Fr Ivo Coelho, Councillor for Formation; and Fr Eusebio Muñoz, delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family. The director of the formation centre of CRESCO, Guatemala, and the Provincial Delegates for Youth Ministry. Were also present.
Bangkok, Thailand – 25 October 2016 – In the context of the journey of the Rector Major in Mongolia and in Myanmar, on October 25, 2016 Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, his secretary, Fr Horacio Lٕópez, and Fr Václav Klement, Regional Councillor for East-Asia-Oceania, visited Bangkok province, during their sojourn in Bangkok.
Nairobi, Kenya - October 2016 - On 22 October the Bosco Boys Project for needy children in Kuwinda celebrated with guests, friends, benefactors and all the people who support the project. The day began with a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by Fr Francis Kiarie, Secretary of Education of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. In his homily he thanked the Salesians for their work with children in need and promised support for the project. After the Mass there were various entertainment items, and diplomas were given to 8 students who have finished their studies in Kuwinda. Among the guests present there were representatives from the Slovak embassy who have long supported the project, Salesian Co-operators and journalists who are participating in the SIGNIS workshop at DBYES.
Pristina, Kosovo - October 2016 - A meeting of teachers in SDB and FMA schools in Albania and Kosovo, took place for the second consecutive year on 21-22 October at the Salesian house in Pristina. It was promoted and coordinated by the SDB and FMA Youth Ministry delegates of their respective Provinces. The theme chosen was "Salesian Anthropology: our students are formed by what the school is and what the teachers are." With the help of the speaker Fr Miguel Ángel García Morcuende, the 150 teachers reflected on the characteristics of the Salesian school, and the teachers and the type of person we want to form in Salesian schools.
La Paz, Bolivia - October 2016 - On 22 October, Archbishop Tito Solari, SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Cochabamba, presided at the priestly ordination of the Salesian Diter Choquehuanca in the Minor Basilica of Mary Help of Christians.
Bogotá, Colombia - October 2016 - From 16 to 23 October the twenty-first Meeting of the Provincials of the Inter-America Region took place at the Rectorate of the Salesian University Foundation and the León XIII community of Bogota. The Regional Councillor, Fr Timothy Ploch, presided. The meeting was attended by Fr Ivo Coelho, Councillor General for Formation; Bro. Jean-Paul Muller, SDB, Economer General: and Fr Eusebio Muñoz, delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family. The heads of the regional training centres were also present, Fr Salvador Delgadillo (CSFPA) and Fr Miguel Agustín Aguilar (CRESCO). Fr Jean Paul Mesidor, Provincial of Haiti, was absent because of the emergency situation following hurricane Matthew.
