Rome, Italy – 12 January 2017 – This morning the meeting of Salesian mission offices opened with an address by the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime. Also present were Fr. Guillermo Basañes, general councilor for the Missions, and Bro. Jean-Paul Muller, treasurer general. The conference was organized by the Missions Sector in cooperation with the Congregation’s Finance Department. More than 60 participants were in attendance, both Salesians and lay persons involved in the work of mission offices, planning offices, organizations like the Don Bosco Network (DBN), and representatives of various departments with related interests.

Rabaul, Papua New Guinea – January 2017 - On 8 January, Archbishop Francesco Panfilo, SDB, of Rabaul, presided over the inauguration ceremony of a new community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians: the "Maria Troncatti" Convent  in Tapo, Kokopo.

Benediktbeuern, Germany – 10 January 2017 – 60 young volunteers who were active in Salesian projects between 1999 and 2016 attended the annual  "Don Bosco Volunteers-Power" meeting in Benediktbeuern, during which they shared their experiences and discussed the issue of volunteering.

Lo Cañas, Chile - January 2017 - Between 8 and 21 January the course in Salesian Studies, Level I, II and III, was held in Lo Cañas. It was entitled "An approach to the study of Don Bosco educator-pastor in his socio-political and ecclesial context". There were 80 participants including teachers and youth ministry staff of the SDB and FMA works in the country.

Tijuana, Mexico - January 2017 - As every year, the Salesian Volunteers from the Western Province of the United States (SUO), organized a mission trip to Tijuana (Mexico). This year, together with the group of young people, in addition to Juan Carlos Montenegro, the Delegate for Salesian Volunteers, there were also two novices, Quang Nguyen and Damien Ho. The missionary group has been supporting the Salesian work in Tijuana on behalf of the homeless, orphans and Haitian migrants.

Kenitra - Morocco – 23 December 2016 - The children of the Don Bosco Salesian school celebrated Christmas with song and dance in the presence of relatives and friends.
