Brasilia, Brazil - September 2018 – Taking place from 26 to 28 September were the 16th National Meeting of the Salesian Network of Brazil (RSB) of the Schools (ENARSE in Portuguese) and the IX National Meeting of Local Economers, on the theme "Inspired by the dreams of our founders, let us strengthen the unity of our network and consolidate effective actions in the scenario of educational change." The meetings were held in an integrated way and brought together about 350 people including directors, economers and pedagogical coordinators of the RSB Schools units throughout the country, together with animators and administrators of the poles or districts, directors of the Network and Provincials of Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Vatican City, Vatican - October 2018 - On October 6, Pope Francis appointed Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, among the Consultors of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, created on 15 August 2016 and which assumed the functions and responsibilities of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and of the Pontifical Council for the Family.

Cebu, Philippines - October 2018 - The Commission of the Salesian Missions of Don Bosco in the South Philippines Province (FIS) has organized a series of campaigns to promote Salesian missionary volunteer service (SALVO) among Filipino laity, especially among young people and young professionals. The activities started on September 14th and will take place in various Salesian centers until December 2018.

Kolkata, India - October 2018 - On October 2, at the Sonada Salesian College of Darjeeling, the national festival "Gandhi Jayanti" was celebrated to commemorate the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The activities began with the offering of the ceremonial scarf to the image of Gandhi and continued with the interventions of various teachers and students and a short film presentation of a hymn inspired by him. The Dean of the Institute concluded the celebrations by underlining the importance of the nonviolent movement arising from Gandhi, which inspired other people in the world such as Nelson Mandela in South Africa, Martin Luther King in the United States, and Lech Wałęsa in Poland.

Concepción, Chile - October 2018 - On 6 October, Msgr. Fernando Chomali, archbishop of Concepción, presided over the priestly ordination of Salesian Eduardo Oviedo.

Bolton, Great Britain - September 2018 - On September 29 and 30 at the "Thornleigh Salesian College" in Bolton, a Salesian Youth Ministry meeting was held called "Make Some Noise 2018" with hundreds of students from Salesian schools taking part. The participants, led by animators and Salesians, were able to carry out various activities including moments of play, reflection and prayer, with various sports, crafts and cooking workshops.
