Managua, Nicaragua - 5 October 2018 - At the "Sor María Romero" educational center there was a national meeting of the leaders of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) and the sending off mass of the Delegation of Nicaragua to the next World Youth Day. The SDB and FMA Salesian Delegations of the Country participated in the training seminar, with the aim of starting to build their life project, and they received the cross, a sign of the mission they will undertake next year in the meeting with Pope Francis in Panama.

Mumbai, India - October 2018 - On 11 October, the first session of the Provincial Chapter of the Mumbai Province (INB) began, with 69 participants. Fr Godfrey D'Souza, INB Provincial, presided at the opening Eucharistic celebration and presented the introductory speech, during which he invited the participants to reflect deeply on the theme of the next GC28: "What Salesians for today's youth?" Fr Wyman Gonsalves, Moderator of the INB Provincial Chapter, presented the evaluation review of the previous Provincial Chapter; Fr Clive Telles, moderator of the Provincial Chapter of the Panjim Province (INP), guided the reflection by inviting the participants to commit themselves to producing an avant-garde model of Salesian work for South Asia.

Lorraine, Brazil - October 2018 - On October 5, at the Salesian post-novitiate "São José", the "Curatorium" took place, a moment of evaluation of the Salesian formation process. Present were the Provincials: Fr Asídio Deretti, of Porto Alegre; Fr Ernesto Piccinini, of "São Paulo", and Fr Nivaldo Luiz Pessinatti, of Recife.

London, Great Britain - October 2018 - On October 14, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Battersea, London, celebrated the 125th anniversary of its consecration, with the presence of Fr Francesco Cereda, Vicar of the Rector Major. At the altar of the country's first Salesian church flew the flags of the 44 Nations from which parishioners of the "Sacred Heart" come from.

Frankfurt, Germany - October 2018 - The Frankfurt Book Fair was held from 10 to 14 October. Among the more than 7,000 exhibitors from 100 different countries, there were also the Salesians, with the "Don Bosco-Medien" publishing house. Palermo, Italy - October 2018 - On 6 October, the Past Pupils Union of Don Bosco Ranchibile of Palermo received the visit of Br Biagio Conte, a lay missionary of the "Mission of Hope and Charity". The meeting took place by will of the Board of Directors of the Union to foster collaboration between the various doctors and lawyers of the past pupils of Don Bosco and the activities of the Mission of Hope and Charity that for years has welcomed the poor, the homeless and immigrants of Palermo. Those present listened to the personal experience and the testimony of Brother Conte who did not fail to underline the strong bond with Don Bosco and his sons, also thanks to the indispensable presence in the mission of the Salesian Fr Pino Vitrano. The President of the Union then presented the doctors and lawyers who will work together to build the “House of Suffering and Hope”, providing health assistance to the poor and immigrants welcomed in the mission.
