Brussels, Belgium – March 2024 – The Salesian Don Bosco International (DBI) oganisation and the Youth Ministry Sector of the Salesians of Don Bosco participated in the planning retreat of the "European Laudato Si ’ Alliance" (ELSiA), held in Brussels on 18 and 19 March 2024. It was a fruitful moment of reflection and preparation for future actions inspired by Laudato Si', experienced together with other groups inspired and united by the same objective, such as: Caritas Europe, International Cooperation for Development and Solidarity (CIDSEI), the Laudato Si', Justice and Peace Movement, the European Jesuit Social Centre (JESC) and the Commission of the Episcopal Conferences of the European Union (COMECE).

Odxel, India – March 2024 – During a solemn ceremony in the chapel of the Provincial House of the Salesians of India-Panjim (InP), four Salesians were ordained deacons by the Archbishop of Goa and Damão and Patriarch of the East Indies, Cardinal Filipe Neri António Ferrão. The ordination was also attended by Fr Clive Telles, Superior of the INP Province, Salesians, parents and relatives of the new deacons.

Vienna, Austria – March 2024 – The City of Vienna hosted the "Fundamental Rights Forum 2024" on 11 and 12 March 2024, , organised by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA). As a member of the FRA – Fundamental Rights Platform, the "Don Bosco International" (DBI) Salesian organisation was invited to take part in the forum together with high-level speakers, thinkers, politicians, creators and civil society organisations that aim to shape the future of a rights-based Europe. In-depth reflections on human rights challenges were offered through debates, messages from global leaders, a "marketplace of connection", a human rights workshop, masterclasses, technology presentations, artistic performances, music and networking events. Among the main topics discussed were the current threats against the founding principles of the European Union of freedom, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human and fundamental rights; the climate crisis as a human rights crisis which affects a wide range of rights, highlighting global inequality and social injustice; The guarantee of respect for rights in an increasingly digital world. Together with Mrs Barbara Terenzi of the International Volunteer Service for Development (VIS), the Executive Secretary of Don Bosco International, Sara Sechi, had the opportunity to share Salesian best practices with civil society actors attentive to human rights, developed new contacts with FRA and EU officials, and congratulated Mrs Sirpa Rautio on her new role as Director of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.

On Tuesday, March 12, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles, the Department of Catholic Schools from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles held their 50th Christian Service Awards ceremony. The day began with a festive Eucharist presided over by Archbishop Jose Gomez. Students from all over the archdiocese were recognized for their selfless service to those who are on the margins in their local communities. Four of our students were honored for their service in youth ministry in their home parishes and at the Salesian Family Youth Center in Los Angeles. Those honored were Sebastian Ceballos from Bishop Mora Salesian High School in Los Angeles, Michael Rodriguez and Mighty Tran from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, and Andrei Menguito De La Cruz from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead.

Lusaka, Zambia – March 2024 – The Don Bosco Novitiate in Makeni, Lusaka, hosted the ZMB Vice-Province Spirituality Days which took place from 19 to 20 March. Numerous Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Past Pupils, Volunteers and Animators gathered fr the occasion, numerous , with the aim of discussing the Rector Major's Strenna 2024: "The dream that makes you dream". A heart that transforms "wolves" into "lambs". In addition to Strenna 2024, participants explored topics such as Don Bosco's Childhood Dream and the shared mission. The representatives of the different groups of the Salesian Family then told their respective stories in the ZMB Vice-Province. Also present at the event was Fr Mbandama Michael Kazembe, ZMB Superior, who invited all those present to renew their spirituality and rediscover the presence of Don Bosco in their lives. Fr Christopher Kunda, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, urged young people to continue to dresitation. am for a brighter future of the Salesian Youth Movement in the Vice-Province. The days then ended with a moment of prayer and renewed commitment.

Milan, Italy – March 2024 - The students of the Salesian Rainerum Institute in Bolzano, continue to make milestones and confirm South Tyrolean excellence in the field of robotics. "This time it is Augusto Martino, Elisa Aricò and Elia Vismara, with the collaboration of their comrades Arianna Marrone, Matteo Colaone and Noah Perli, who won second place at the 35th FAST (Youth and Science) competition held in Milan from 16 to 18 March, earning the opportunity to represent Italy at the Genius Olympiad in Rochester (NY) in the USA from 10 to 14 June. The young South Tyroleans, led by professors Prof. Monfalcon, Prof. Finotti, Prof. Sanin and Prof. Bertotto, won the final selections with a bold and current project that looks to the future: R.E.I (Robotic Emphatic Intelligence). R.E.I. is a robot that represents an evolutionary leap in the interaction between man and machine. Through the integration of facial recognition technologies, neural networks and artificial intelligence, R.E.I. stands out as a humanoid robot capable of perceiving and communicating emotions", as stated by the Dean, Prof. Stefano Monfalcon.
