(ANS – Onitsha) - The Salesian Hostel in the Don Bosco community of Onitsha, located in the Anambra State of Nigeria, has the support needed for a new roof project thanks to donor funding from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco. While the roof is not yet completed, the funding helped pay for construction of roof beams, fabrication of the iron trusses, and connection, fixing and anchorages of the structural steel works.

Santiago, Chile – March 2024 - The Federation of Salesian Past Pupils of Chile presented with joy and hope the new Past Pupil Centre at the Don Bosco Oratory School in Santiago, which on Friday, 22 March, held its first meeting with the aim of electing a provisional council. The council consists of Rafael Godoy, Chairman; Santiago Cole, Vice-Chairman; Esteban Cole, Secretary; Tomas Quiroz, Treasurer and Álvaro Santander, Spokesman. The establishment of this centre is in line with one of the federation's objectives, which is to motivate and work with young people. "By accompanying this group, we intend to resume a project that was created a few years ago, the Young Salesian Past Pupils (JEXS) project"  the president of the Federation of Salesian Past Pupils, Jair Bacin, shared. Rafael Godoy, who graduated in 2019, expressed that the goal is to regain the community that exists among students, maintain Salesian spirituality and also form a past pupils centre that can represent everyone. The young past pupils hope that in the future there will be a family of past pupils who actively participate in the school and the community, helping people and generating various activities.

São Paulo, Brazil – March 2024 - The coordinators of the ADMA groups in the Salesian São Paulo Brazil Province (BSP), met on 23 March for a Council Meeting which took place in the Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora Parish in Bom Retiro. About 50 members representing 17 local groups, of the 22 in the BSP Province had the fraternal presence and accompaniment of the Salesians: Luis Antonio Amiranda, Delegate for the Salesian Family, Fr Vinícius Ricardo de Paula, ADMA Provincial Delegate, Fr Luiz Gonzaga Piccoli, ADMA-Bom Retiro, and Fr Marcos Sérgio da Silva, ADMA-Campinas. The reflection theme "I will give you a Teacher", in preparation for the International Congress of Mary Help of Christians in Portugal, gave rise to reflections, sharing, music, prayer, the Rosary together and much joy among the participants, reviving the flame and Salesian charism of each participant.

Santiago, Chile – March 2024 – Representatives of the country's religious communities participated in the Economers Day, held at the Provincial House on 22 March. The main objective of the meeting was to provide some guidelines and support the local management of the Salesian communities in order to have a common criterion. The event began with the celebration of the Eucharist in the chapel, by the Provincial of the Salesians in Chile, Fr Nelson Moreno and concelebrated by the Provincial Economer Fr Néstor Muñoz. Subsequently, the head of Administration and Finance, Andrés Berríos, and the head of the Accounting Department presented the progress and results of the processes carried out by the economer's office. In addition to delving into the new accounting software that centralises the accounting in communities. The status of quotas for the Religious Solidarity Fund in each community was presented, which mainly goes to help the health centre. The working day ended with an address by the Head of Human Resources, Claudio Cartes, focused on salaries, contracts for community workers and health insurance. “It was a very fraternal moment, with many consultations. A practical meeting to experience first-hand what difficulties our communities are experiencing over time" said Fr Néstor Muñoz.
