(ANS - Neiva) - The Panorama neighbourhood is in the South-East area of the city of Neiva. It is characterized by a very serious level of poverty and various social problems. Family violence and the lack of educational and employment opportunities for young people mean that many kids spend their time on the streets, engaged in begging, theft, drug use and fighting. Thinking of these young people, the Salesians in the area want to promote alternative social spaces, with healthy proposals for use of free time and consequent reduction of social exclusion.

(ANS - Santiago) - In the educational centre at Alameda, Fr Francesco Cereda, Vicar of the Rector Major, met the Salesian communities of Santiago, Valparaiso, Catemu, Copiapo and La Serena. He spoke about the journey of the Congregation and the importance of making this journey in unity.

(ANS - San Salvador) - El Salvador is a small country, but densely populated. Even the Salesians and the members of the Salesian Family in the country are numerous. They run large educational projects with thousands of students. This explains the extraordinary reception given to the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, in this last stage of his visit to the countries of Central America.
