(ANS - Udine) – It's the end of the first year of experimentation of the dual school-work alternation system at the Vocational Training Center of the Salesian Institute 'G.Bearzi' in Udine. Headed by Fr Igino Biffi, SDB, it allows 18 boys studying the mechanical industry to graduate with actual work experience. Most of them have already signed an apprenticeship contract with their host companies. In July, after returning from their internship for a couple more weeks of school, the term ended with the final exam, involving both formation partners, to certify the acquired skills.
(ANS - Rome) – As of September 1, the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) has renewed itself and started its activities with a new Office for Communications and Development, an office that now incorporates the services previously offered by the Press Office and the Office for Development and Public Relations. Mr. Massimo Ilardo was appointed the Director of the new Communications and Development Office.
(ANS – Vatican City) –Amidst a high tension caused by the launching of IBCM (Inter-continental ballistic missile) and sixth test of the nuclear bomb by North Korea there is a spark of light and hope offered by a joint Korean inter-religion Council leaders with their Peace-Pilgrimage including also their meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Dear friends and readers, members of the Salesian Family, for this month's greeting in the Salesian Bulletin I will focus on a very important event that the Salesian Congregation is holding presently: General Chapter XXIX. This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
