(ANS – Cudillero) – The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, received the prestigious "Almuravela d 'oro" award on 14 July, an award given by the "Amigos de Cudillero" Association. The award ceremony was held at the La Lupa hotel in Cudillero. Together with the Rector Major, the director of the "Museum of the Peoples of Asturias", Juaco López, and the author of the sermon "L 'Amuravela", Cesáreo Marqués, were also awarded.
Ennerdale, South Africa – July 2024 - Last Thursday, 11 July, students from the Don Bosco Educational Projects in Ennerdale graduated after intensive courses in the Electricity, Construction and Merchandising sectors. In his address the principal, Mr Napier, urged the students to help build their communities with the newly acquired skills. He also added that it was a real joy to form young people in the area and told them to be grateful to their parents for the sacrifices they made to support them and help them achieve their dreams.
Venezuela – July 2024 - More than a thousand Salesian leaders, lay people and members of the Salesian Family have prepared and are carrying out the 2024 Holiday Oratories in the Salesian St Luke Province of Venezuela (VEN). With the motto "Dream with joy, build eternity", the objective of these oratories is to offer the most vulnerable children, adolescents and young adults a space for meeting,formation and integral development, where they can carry out recreational, sporting, spiritual and cultural activities. The leaders were trained in various areas in order to provide an enriching experience for participants. The witness of leaders and the involvement of the educative and pastoral communities are a sign of communion and synodality in these new times of the Church. Festive Oratories are an opportunity for children, teenagers and young adults to experience the joy of the Gospel and to grow in faith.
Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo – July 2024 – On Saturday 13 July in the parish of St John Bosco, four Salesians made their perpetual profession before the Superior of the Africa Congo Congo (ACC) Vice-Province Fr Aurélien Mukangwa.
(ANS – Esmeraldas) – 8 July was a special day for the Salesian presence in Esmeraldas. After several months of work at the "Madre del Salvador" Centre, the long-awaited day has arrived: the opening of the doors to children and young people so that they can enjoy the renovated spaces and have the opportunity to make good use of them during their free time. The event was chaired by Fr Marcelo Farfán, Superior of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of Ecuador (ECU).
Cebu, Philippines – July 2024 – On 13 July in the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, the members of the Music Ministry in this Parish, both choirs and musicians, received their second liturgical formation led by Fr Amelito Racelis, SDB, on the theme "The role of music in the liturgy". This session is one of the four parts of the Ongoing Formation Programme for the Music Ministry. In his talk Fr Racelis provided seven liturgical guidelines on the use of music and song within the Holy Mass. He also guided participants in understanding the principles of the liturgy outlined by the Second Vatican Council and introduced them to the beauty of Gregorian chant. At the end of his talk Fr Racelis gave the participants practical advice on how to maximise their ministry, participation and prayer while serving Mass.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Argentina – UNISAL Participates in the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”
(ANS – Río Grande) – From February 19 to 21, the cities of Río Grande, Tolhuin, and Ushuaia hosted the International Forum “Territories of the Future: South Atlantic and Antarctica”, organized by the University Network for the Care of the Common Home (RUC) and the Municipality of Río Grande, with support from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF). The event brought together universities from Argentina, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss sustainability and conservation in these regions, with the Salesian University of Argentina (UNISAL) playing an important role.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
