(ANS - Rome) - The figure of St. Francis de Sales has accompanied the spiritual and pedagogical journey of the entire Salesian Family during this year 2022 that is drawing to a close, due to the fourth centenary of the death of the saint from Annecy. The motto of the Rector Major's Strenna, "All through love, nothing through constraint," has been a powerful guideline to more deeply know the roots of the charism common to all groups and to be led spiritually and pedagogically by the wisdom of St. Francis de Sales.
(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, Dec. 14, 2022, as part of the work of the winter plenary session of the General Council, the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of his Council, appointed Fr. Roberto dal Molin as the new Superior of the Lombardy-Emilian Province "San Carlo Borromeo" for 2023 - 2029.
(ANS - Rome) - Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, will mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Venerable Attilio Giordani, husband and family man, Salesian Cooperator.
(ANS – Rome) – Inspired by the goodness, zeal, and optimistic humanism of St. Francis de Sales, Don Bosco chose him as the patron of his congregation and called his followers Salesians (SDB Const 4, 17). But we can also learn a lot from his missionary strategy which he developed during his missionary experience in the Chablais region of France (1594 – 1597), and during his ministry as exiled bishop of Geneva (1602-1622).
(ANS - Rome) - The Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family have been an unmissable appointment for more than forty years for all those who recognize themselves in the charism of Don Bosco. They are an opportunity to share dreams, hopes, and expectations and, this year especially, an opportunity to get to know and deepen the lay dimension of the Salesian Family and hear the message of the Strenna for the New Year from the living voice of the Rector Major himself. It is, ultimately, an opportunity to tap into the roots of one's being "of Don Bosco."
(ANS - Rome) - After consultations that took place among the Salesian houses in Peru, and with the consent of the General Council, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, has appointed Fr. Juan Pablo Alcas Michilot, SDB, Superior of the "Santa Rosa da Lima" Province of Peru (PER) for 2023-2029.

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
