Rome, Italy - April 2016 - In line with the decision of the 27th General Chapter, the first Seminar on Salesian personal accompaniment was held from 22 to 24 April. There were 35 participants, including one lay person, from all over the Salesian world. The seminar was organized by the Departments for Formation and Youth Ministry and led by the respective councillors Fr Ivo Coelho and Fr Fabio Attard. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández, also participated at the opening session.
(ANS - Rome) - Observing the gestures and words of the Pope in Lesvos, and before that in Lampedusa and on many other occasions, Fr Fabio Attard, Councillor for Salesian Youth Ministry, invites us to approach the phenomenon of migration today not from the point of view of "a threat on the part of those called to share with those who have nothing," but with the understanding of the situation of despair of those who leave "a land that is home to go to a strange land."
(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, begins his visit to Belgium this morning. He will remain in the country until next Tuesday 19 April to meet all the Salesians in Belgium, those of the Province of Belgium North (BEN), and those who work in the south of the country and belong to the Province of France-Belgium South (FRB).
(ANS - Rome) –Yesterday 6 April there was a touching celebration which culminated in the enthronement of a distinguished relic of Don Bosco. It marked the opening of the first ever seminar for the promotion of the causes of beatification and canonization. It is being given by the Postulator General, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, and is being held at the Generalate of the Congregation in Rome.
Last weekend in the media hundreds of news items were published about the alleged death of a Salesian missionary. All the information originated from a homily in which the death of the religious was reported as certain.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
