(ANS – Nairobi) – The first ever Salesian Brothers Congress of Africa and Madagascar was held at the Dimesse Sisters Spirituality Centre in Nairobi, East Africa Salesian Province. Thirty-three Salesian Brothers and 4 Salesian Priests took part in the Congress that started on 18th of April and ended on the 23rd of April. The Thame of the Congress is “Rooted in Christ as Servant of the young in Don Bosco’s way”.
(ANS - Didia) – In Didia on 21 April, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, visited the secondary school where around 2,000 people, pupils and staff of the school, gathered for a cordial meeting with plenty of signs of affection. The meeting included the celebration of the Eucharist. After the Mass, Don Bosco's successor met with the Salesians for a moment of fraternal conversation. He explained the main reason for his visit, which was to meet the Salesians. He spoke to them about the beauty of the congregation and at the same time the challenges ahead.
(ANS - Rome) – In order to offer the best possible service in transmitting the footage of Salesian Mission Day 2017 to all the continents, the Departments of the Missions and Social Communication, in collaboration with "Missioni Don Bosco" in Turin, have developed a new mode of distribution.

(ANS - Rome) - Today, Tuesday 18 April, marks the beginning of the visit of the Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime to the Province of East Africa (AFE). Accompanied by his secretary, Fr Horacio López, the Tenth Successor of Don Bosco will be travelling between Tanzania and Kenya until 27 April. He will preside over celebrations of important anniversaries, will participate in the First Regional Congress for Salesian Brothers of Africa-Madagascar and, above all, he will testify anew the love of the Salesians for the neediest young people by visiting the refugee camp in Kakuma.

(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
