(ANS - Rome) - Just over a month after the end of the 28th General Chapter and his re-election as Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime gave a long interview in the Catholic weekly Alfa y Omega. In the interview, the Successor of Don Bosco touched on numerous topics, from perspectives as regards his new six-year term to the state of the Congregation, without forgetting the missionary aspect and his desire to live in a frontier site, once his current assignment ends. In addition to all this, however, much of the interview was dedicated to what has affected the whole world in recent months and has forced all of us to a drastic and radical change in our lives: the Covid-19 pandemic.
(ANS - Rome) - In the days preceding Easter, the Economer General of the Salesian Congregation, Br. Jean Paul Muller, sent a letter to all Provincial Economers to provide various useful information and share communications relating to the emergency generated by COVID-19 and its consequences.
(ANS - Rome) - Men and women fighting relentlessly in hospitals, empty streets, friends who have to keep their distance, physical and economic suffering ... This is the scenario that now practically marks the entire planet. But the Salesian Family is not resigned: from Don Bosco it has inherited a charism made of prayer and action and it is made up of people who, even as they entrust themselves to God, commit themselves personally to helping the most needy. This is why today the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, has sent a new appeal via a video message calling: to respect the norms, to solidarity, to prayer.
